At Omo, we say that dirt is good!
It might sound unusual for a leading laundry brand, but there’s a good reason for our philosophy. Omo believes that dirt is the mark of adventure. It’s a sign that we are getting stuck in and learning from life.
Children don’t only learn by being taught. They learn by doing. Hands-on experience, discovery, and trial and error are vital to every child’s healthy and happy development.
Also sold as Persil, Skip, Breeze, Ala, Wisk, Surf and Rinso in some parts of the world, Omo has a unique technology that gives your family the freedom to get dirty, safe in the knowledge that Omo will remove those awkward stains.
Every child has the right
In our unique study into child development, 1,500 mothers shared their hopes and concerns for their children, with 63% revealing they feared their youngsters were being deprived of their childhood.
This insight inspired Unilever’s Every Child has the Right campaign, focusing on giving children the freedom to experience, learn and develop.
To ensure that everyone, everywhere, can share in this initiative, Omo is investing heavily in developing a range of products that suits the pockets of all income groups.
We’ve launched affordable products in low-income regions of Asia and Africa that offer Omo’s cleaning power and reduce the time, physical effort and amount of water needed to wash clothes by hand. In many countries, laundry has to be washed by hand, a laborious and time-consuming activity.
Our Cleaner Planet Plan
Also key to the Omo brand is our commitment to the Cleaner Planet Plan – a pledge supported by several of Unilever’s laundry brands, through which we’re minimising our impact on the environment.
The Cleaner Planet Plan is about bringing you products that are not only great at cleaning, but also leave a lighter footprint on the planet.
A large percentage of greenhouse gas comes from heating water in washing machines. This is why we strive to bring you top-performing products that are great at cleaning even at low temperatures.
We’re also concentrating our liquids and powders, saving both energy and packaging. In fact, our Small & Mighty liquid bottles for Persil require 40% less packaging than a standard bottle of detergent.
