Each holiday season up to 220 Driver Reviver Sites open right across Australia.

Reducing road accidents

Bushells Driver Reviver is a community-based initiative run by volunteers which aims to reduce the number of road accidents. Bushells Tea has a long history of helping travellers, selling tea to the early settlers of Queensland during the gold rush in the 1880s. Today it is the national sponsor of more than 220 Driver Reviver sites which open right across Australia on major national holidays, when Australian families embark on their vacations.

Helping drivers

The sites are ideal places to take breaks on long journeys. Here, drivers can get a free cup of hot Bushells tea, a quick snack and most importantly, the chance to revive so that they reach their destinations safely. Over a million people take advantage of these facilities each year.

Driver Reviver was started in 1989 and since then dedicated volunteers from community groups, such as LIONS International, State Emergency Services, the Rural and Volunteer Fire Services and Volunteer Rescue Association have helped build it into a national safety initiative, reinforced by a government-funded road safety campaign. Driver Reviver also has a website featuring safe driving tips; the locations of the Driver Reviver sites and links to traffic information, enabling drivers to plan their rest stops
