The guy's guide to showering

Whether it’s the way they eat, talk or even walk, the differences between men and women are many and varied – and there’s almost no clearer way to see them than in the way they bathe.

For many women, a bath or shower is a relaxing, even sensual experience. Taking a long bath can be the perfect way to unwind after a hectic day, a haven away from the busy outside world. Exotic soaps, bath salts and scented candles can enhance the experience.

Men take a shower to get clean.

Shower power

Let's face it, if you’re in a rush to get to the office, meet your mates for a kickaround or head out for a night on the town, that last thing you want to do is waste precious minutes in the bath. And as time is short, it's important to use the right shower products in the right way, to gain maximum cleanliness as efficiently as possible.

Soap or gel?

It's an important question, and more and more people are opting for gels. Gels are more convenient, they hold scents for longer and you get more lather. Not only that, but it's easier to apply gel to a sponge or loofah than bar soaps – crucial points for a busy man on the go.

Whether you're coming back from the gym or getting ready for a night out, Axe Shower is the perfect way to prepare – with gels formulated especially for guys, combining powerful fragrances with an intense clean.

Quick & clean

Follow these steps for the perfect guy's shower:

  • Don't wait for the shower to warm up. Turn it on and do something else while it heats up, like brush your teeth
  • Rinse under the shower, one full 360-degree turn should do it
  • Hair first. Use some shampoo, lather it up and scrub scalp for 30 seconds to a minute, then rinse off
  • Now for conditioner. Rub this into your hair, and leave it to work
  • Don't waste time waiting for the conditioner, instead pick up your sponge and apply some Axe Shower Gel
  • Work up a good lather, then attack those high-priority spots first – under arms and private parts – before moving onto lower priority areas like chest, back, arms and legs.
  • Rinse the lather off your body, then rinse your hair again to remove the conditioner
  • Get out of the shower, dry off, get dressed and leave the house. If it took longer than 15 minutes then you wasted valuable time – better luck next time!
