Treat your locks to some extra love

There's one part of the body that often gets overlooked when it comes to pampering, and that's hair.

New Year is often the perfect time to embark on a healthy new regime, with fitness, diet and detox being popular resolutions after the party season. Don't forget your hair needs love as well.

Gently does it

While many of us see thoroughly moisturising our face daily as simply routine, taking such dedicated care of our locks isn't always quite as high on the priority list. But with hair growing at a snail's pace at most, shoulder-length styles can be at least two years old, and need regular nourishment if they're to remain looking good.

Daily drying and styling with hot, electrical tools is an unavoidable part of many women's routines, and can cause damage to heat-sensitive hair. Protect yours straight from the shower, by misting still-damp strands with a protective pre-styling spray or running a smoothing serum through the ends.

Revive & replenish

Sometimes hair needs some extra help, especially stressed-out locks that have been ravaged by colour, chemical treatments or environmental factors such as sun, sea water or swimming pool chlorine. Find ten minutes once or twice a week to indulge your troubled tresses with an intensively moisturising mask or specially formulated rich cream, designed to revive and replenish hair right to the core.

Daily routine

Choose a shampoo and conditioner that's designed to meet your hair's needs and help solve its problems. Whether yours is coloured, bleached, dry, frizzy, lacklustre or limp, there's a double-act to suit you. Take a look at Dove's range of hydrating special treatments and daily cleansers, each formulated to offer specific care for a wealth of hair types and traumas.
