"The thing I enjoy the most about my job is the departmental interaction. We are central to all financial decisions, which include launches, prices and promotions. I find this interaction very stimulating, although many non-financial people wonder how we can work with figures all day long and enjoy it. I am currently working on the annual plan for next year and am involved in setting up a new budgeting system that will allow us to spend less time producing budgets and more time analysing them. With seven countries in our region (Unilever South Central Europe) any improvement to an established process affects our work significantly. At the same time, I have enhanced my ability to 'think outside the box'. There are few situations where you can apply the exact same solution as before, so you constantly need to be creative and innovative in what you do. This keeps life interesting.
My biggest hobby outside work is climbing mountains. Romania has so many, that a lifetime is not enough to explore everything. For me it is the most complete way of relaxing. Being on the top of a mountain, after a big effort, is like being on the top of the world. It makes you feel like a winner since it involves competing first with yourself. I think that climbing takes a lot of physical and mental effort. When I come back to work after such expeditions, I feel a lot stronger."
