HR Director Unilever Australasia, Sydney Australia
There have been many achievements over the years that I'm proud of: new systems, processes, training, highly successful recruit. However, right now my greatest sense of achievement is the launch of the new Unilever Australasia and energising its people behind a new Vision.
I am driven by the idea of transforming Unilever Australasia into an organisation with the capability to meet its growth objectives. I enjoy creating a new organisation and the satisfaction of putting into practice, in a supportive team environment, all the things I've learned over the years but particularly over the last two or three years.
I joined Unilever 20 years ago because it presented the best opportunity to pursue a career in Human Resources. It's a big international business, highly successful, with an excellent reputation in the community. They were prepared to take a risk and make me an offer before I completed my degree. They were prepared to give me real responsibility early, and back it up with a structured training and development programme, and planned experience. The promise was accelerated career progression. My current role is the job I aspired to when I first joined Unilever. It's very gratifying to have achieved a long-term career goal. I aspire beyond this role but with that achievement goes a great sense of responsibility to do an outstanding job first.
