It really hit me during my UK secondment that I had become part of a global organisation and I was accomplishing something no one else previously had done. It was very exciting and opened my eyes to the depth and extent with which Unilever products reach everyone in the world.

While working for the deodorant category, I was involved in a ground-breaking project, helping to launch a new product – Dove deodorant wipes. My team was responsible for ensuring the hygienic security of the product from conception to it appearing on the shop shelves. The most challenging aspects of the project were the quick timing needed to deliver the product to market, the novelty of the product form and establishing solid relationships with the contract packager who is manufacturing the product for us.

One thing that has always impressed me about Unilever is the way innovation and technological progression are encouraged. It's a good match for me as I enjoy interacting with people and striving to create and implement new ideas which give the team a competitive, technical edge. I also believe that if you are determined to accomplish goals in your personal life, it drives you to show the same commitment at work, helping you achieve more.
