Company Logistics Manager Istanbul, Turkey
"I'm open to new ideas and new ways of working. In Unilever, I have the resources to develop and implement my ideas."
"In Supply chain management, understanding the needs of your customers and the dynamics of the trade is crucial, especially in a volatile economy like Turkey. It's just as important as understanding the technical capabilities of factories and the supply chain. My role is to adjust and synchronise the factories, warehouses, and suppliers in the supply chain according to market requirements. Flow of information is key to this. I see the logistics role as being similar to an air traffic controller, whose objective is to take-off and land the planes safely and on time.
Has life at Unilever given me any surprises? Well, I met my husband through work and we've been married for five years. Training has been challenging as I realise that management is a discipline in its own right and not an easy task at all. An advanced negotiation course has helped me to improve my competencies in people management in both my job and in my life outside work. I can now safely negotiate with my husband too!"
