Growing as one
Chairman Michael Treschow introduces the Review for the first time, saying: "I find this an exciting time to work for Unilever. The business is doing well and, with its wealth of talented people, its great global brands and its ambitious business plans, is on track to do even better." He also comments on the restructuring programme and changes on the Board.
This positive message is reinforced by Group Chief Executive Patrick Cescau in his Review: "2007 was a good year for Unilever. We have grown consistently, achieving our best underlying sales growth in a decade. Despite a challenging cost environment, we also delivered an increase in underlying operating margin."
The Annual Review includes information on company performance, global brands, recent achievements and current priorities. There are also details on the financial and operating highlights from last year and on the corporate governance, structure and Board of Directors.
Hard copies are also available upon request in English and Dutch, printed on 80% recycled fibre paper, accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council.
