Safe working, healthy employees

Safety is a universal principle for us and we apply the same standards to our factories and offices across the world.

Always improving

We do all we can to keep our workplaces safe and healthy. And it’s an area in which we aim to improve continuously and measurably, year on year.

Employees and employers have to work together and take responsibility for a safe and healthy workplace. We make this happen by putting employees’ well-being at the heart of our culture.

For proof of this commitment you only have to look at the array of health and safety awards our companies around the world have won.

For example our Boksburg site in South Africa recently carried off no less than eight national awards for its health and safety record. We also have an internal awards scheme to motivate our people to look after each other and their working environment. Recent winners include workplaces as diverse as our main London office (which clocked up 1.5 million hours without an accident) and the Hindustan Lever factory in Kandla, India.
