Support in nutrition training, building networks & providing communication materials

The Unilever Nutrition Network Latin America has senior nutritionists based in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico who support nutritionists working in the other countries, with, amongst other things, nutrition training, building networks with external stakeholders and providing communication materials.

Latin American School Feeding Network (LA-RAE)

One of the successful activities of the Unilever Nutrition Network Latin America is our involvement in the Latin American School Feeding Network that aimed at ensuring that more children receive education and good nutrition. The Latin American School Feeding Network, LA-RAE in Spanish, was launched in Chile in 2004. LA-RAE brings together parents, teachers, governments, suppliers, nutrition and education organisations with the objective of optimising school feeding programmes and ensuring that more children receive education and good nutrition in Latin America.

The Chilean school feeding program

The Chilean school feeding program is recognised as a best practice example and is copied by other countries in the region. One of these countries is Argentina.

Unilever is involved in LA-RAE in several ways:
• Representing the private sector to the Board of Directors of LA-RAE
• Helping LA-RAE in creating its Brand Communication and Marketing Strategy
• Working with LA-RAE on the roll-out of the Chilean model in Argentina and Mexico
