Help us rescue and rehabilitate Australia’s koalas
Before the devastating bushfires in early 2020, koala populations in New South Wales and Queensland were already listed as vulnerable to extinction.
The catastrophic events over ‘Black Summer’ have resulted in massive losses to remaining koala populations. Now, we are asking the worrying question – can this iconic Australian species survive?
What can we do about it?
Streets’ Paddle Pop is proud to partner with WIRES, Australia's largest wildlife rescue organisation. WIRES rescues and cares for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife, and we are joining its mission to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife.
Koalas found in damaged areas are transported to rehabilitation facilities where they can access high-quality fresh foliage. They are then reacclimatised to their natural habitat before being released back into the wild.
But additional facilities like this are needed to ensure that WIRES can successfully rescue even more koalas. That’s why Paddle Pop is supporting the construction of new koala rehabilitation facilities, and helping to fund research and education.
