Get loved up with Cornetto's latest films
Cornetto is helping ice cream fans to ‘Enjoy the Ride, Love the Ending’ through 12 new films capturing the all-consuming ups and downs of young romance in modern times.
Celebrating teen romance
The latest Cupidity series tells 12 different love stories from around the world – five of which were produced exclusively for the Chinese market – featuring many big name musicians and actors. So far the films have been viewed more than 220 million times.
Set in the Spanish sun, Love Ride is about a young guy falling in love at first sight with a girl on a bus and then using social media to find and woo her, illustrating that persistence can often win in love. The film is also featured in various exclusive music videos for hit songs, including Logico #1 by Italian singer Cesare Cremonini and Yeniden by Turkish superstar Yalın.
In 40-Love UK pop singer Lily Allen helps a rising female tennis star fall for the lineswoman she had accidentally knocked out, showing that the course of true love never does run smooth. Shadow Dancer set in Israel, is all about a girl who learns to follow her heart rather than giving in to the pressure of the in-crowd, as she falls for a basketball player deemed a ‘loser’ by her friends and their shadows dance together in the floodlights of the court.
In Drawings & Dreams Turkish singer Yalın brings together two classmates who unwittingly fall for each other in a tale of mistaken identities. Yalın, as Cupid, intervenes to ensure that even if they didn’t think they belonged together at first, they realise it in the end.
The Oasis is the classic American road trip movie, introducing us to a young woman who reluctantly takes a chance on love and living in the moment when a stranger enters her life and teaches her to be free. Footage from the film was cut to an exclusive remix of Australian band Empire of the Sun’s Celebrate.
In Travellers shot in Italy, a young couple meet on a train ride which leads to the boy having to decide whether to follow his heart or his parents’ wishes.
Finally in Together Apart set in Russia, a couple are separated by geography but find a way to celebrate their love with the help of the guy’s colleagues – Russian popstars t.A.T.u and Ligalize. The footage has also been cut to be used as a proper music video from t.A.T.u.
Enjoy the ride, love the ending
Barbara Cavicchia, Brand Director, Cornetto Global, says: “We are so excited to be back with a second instalment to the Cupidity series, which follows the twists and turns of teen romance. These films really bring to life our tagline ‘Enjoy the Ride, Love the Ending’ and we hope our fans continue to enjoy and share them.”
This year’s films follow on from the first Cupidity series of four films in 2013, which recorded over 55 million views and included the most shared branded music video of 2013.
