Simplification of Unilever – 1 October 2018

London/Rotterdam - Unilever published the shareholder documentation for its Simplification proposal on 11th September 2018. Since then, some PLC shareholders have sought confirmation regarding a number of governance matters.

Walmart and Unilever announce forest sustainability initiatives at the Global Climate Action Summit

London / Bentonville – Today, at the Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS) in San Francisco, USA, Unilever committed to supporting work in Sabah, Malaysia as part of the strategy to achieving a deforestation free supply chain and further reducing emissions. Unilever will help sustainably certify 60,000 hectares in Sabah, Malaysia as part of a programme led by Forever Sabah, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Malaysia and PONGO Alliance. Sabah is pushing to certify 100 percent of the state’s palm oil production to Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification by 2025. According to WWF, this will help to reduce 17 million metric tonnes of CO2e in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

Unilever named industry leader in Dow Jones Sustainability Index

In the 20th year of participating in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), Unilever has been named as the leader in the 2018 Personal Products industry. The result means Unilever continues to be included in DJSI World, a global investment index which tracks leading sustainable companies.

Share Buy-Back Programme – Update July 2018

London/Rotterdam – On 19 April 2018, Unilever PLC and Unilever N.V. announced their intention to buy back shares with an aggregate market value equivalent of up to €6 billion, in line with the Group’s objective of targeting a net debt to EBITDA ratio of 2.0x and our intention to return the expected after-tax proceeds upon completion of the Spreads disposal to shareholders, unless more value-creating acquisition alternatives arise.
