Integrating sustainability into our business
Unilever earned the award for a long-term dedication to integrating sustainability into our business products and operations, our history of improving global environmental standards, and our comprehensive which includes specific performance goals and more than 50 targets.
Nominated companies in various sectors were assessed by an independent jury. Gold Medal Jury Chairman Joel Abrams said Unilever won the award “for its extraordinary commitment to sustainable business throughout its operations.” He went on to say that “the scale and depth of Unilever’s impact across sustainable farming, logistics and consumer behaviour has raised the bar for global businesses.”
Unilever CEO Paul Polman will accept the Gold Medal Award at a presentation ceremony in Washington, DC in May 2013.
