Be a supporter, educator and activist for domestic violence
In South Africa, one in five women has experienced physical violence and 60,000 women and children are victims of domestic violence.
What can we do about it?
Joko wants to help our nation’s women use their strength to speak out. Our #EndDomesticSilence campaign aims to give women a safe space to have that first difficult conversation.
We’ve partnered with POWA (People Opposing Women Abuse), a South African NGO that advocates for women’s rights and also provides shelter, counselling and legal advice for victims of abuse.
The only way we can stop this cycle of abuse is through supporting, educating and advocating. We believe we are stronger together, so we’ve developed three guides to help you take on these roles.
As a supporter, learn about the best ways to support someone. As an educator, you can educate yourself and others about abuse. As an activist, you can call out negative behaviour and get actively involved in marches and protests.
Join us, speak out and stand together in solidarity to #EndDomesticSilence(Opens in a new window)
