Women collecting river water

Help change lives with clean water this winter

The issue

The people of Frat, Ethiopia, are among the 785 million people worldwide who don’t have access to have clean water.

Our changing climate is making life harder. For the community of Frat, the unpredictable weather is threatening their crop – their only source of income. As floods become more common and extreme, this is happening more and more all over the world.

What can we do about it?

Clean water is the first line of defence. It makes communities more resilient to the impacts of climate change and brings security for the future.

The people of Frat need us by their side this winter. With clean water on tap, they can meet their basic needs, stay safe and healthy, and work together to support themselves.

As our climate changes, you can help to make sure they can rely on one thing – clean water. And, if you donate between 5 November 2020 and 4 February 2021, the UK government will match your donations to WaterAid’s Future on Tap campaign, up to £2 million.

Together, we aim to raise £3 million, which will be made up to £5 million by the UK government. Join us and help to make double the difference to climate-vulnerable communities around the world.
