In South Africa, one in five women has experienced physical violence and 60,000 women and children are victims of domestic violence.
Joko wants to help our nation’s women use their strength to speak out. Our #EndDomesticSilence campaign aims to give women a safe space to have that first difficult conversation.
We’ve partnered with POWA (People Opposing Women Abuse), a South African NGO that advocates for women’s rights and also provides shelter, counselling and legal advice for victims of abuse.
The only way we can stop this cycle of violence and abuse is to come together and end the silence. So join us, speak out and stand together in solidarity. By wearing a purple ribbon, either physically or digitally, you are telling everyone that you stand against domestic violence. Wear your support and help break the silence.
