Willem is responsible for Unilever’s end-to-end global supply chain and operations, including manufacturing, logistics, planning, customer fulfilment and procurement, and for driving resilience, productivity and transformation across the enterprise. His remit also includes Unilever’s enterprise technology and digital agenda, as well as Global Business Services, delivering core operational services across finance, HR, supply chain, marketing and other functions at scale.
Prior to his current role, Willem was Chief Procurement Officer for the Unilever Group. Before that, he served as Executive Director Supply Chain at Hindustan Unilever Ltd, leading supply chain operations across South Asia, South East Asia and Australia.
Willem joined Unilever in 1999 as a management trainee at the R&D Centre in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands. He has since held a range of senior supply chain leadership roles across Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America and at global level, including serving on the management committee of Unilever Mexico and Caribbean, and leading Supply Chain for Home Care in Latin America and globally.
Willem holds an MSc in Applied Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands.
He is married and has three daughters.
