Hellmann's creates the world's longest picnic table
Hellmann’s has set a new Guinness World Record for the world’s longest picnic table in New York as part of its 100th birthday celebrations.
A tableful of treats
The record breaking table, which was made from solid pine wood, measured 320 feet – making it longer than a football field.
Food fans joined celebrities including actress Katie Holmes and TV personality Andy Cohen and chefs Mario Batali, Tim Love and Aaron Sanchez for a range of tasty treats made with Hellmann’s products including Italian style balsamic potato salad and chocolate cupcakes.
You can find all the information you need to try making chef Batali’s great-tasting recipes at home by visiting www.hellmanns.com.
Looking forward to the future
After the celebrations at Hudson River Park's Pier 84 – just blocks from founder Richard Hellmann’s original deli - all useable wood was donated to Build It Green to feature in future building projects in New York.
Brian Orlando, Senior Brand Director, Hellmann's, says: “Our record-breaking table only exists because we have been invited to so many tables throughout the years, from holiday dinners, to school lunches, Sunday dinners and even the dessert table. Today, we celebrate 100 years of turning meals into moments and look forward to another 100 years at the table."
Caring and sharing
In recognition of Hunger Action Month in September, Hellmann’s is providing one million meals to Feeding America, a nationwide network of more than 200 food banks that leads the fight against hunger in the United States.
