Knorr’s new film celebrates the emotional role that flavour plays in our lives as it takes viewers on a journey to answer the question ‘what is the greatest flavour on earth?’
Flavour is about much more than just taste
The Flavour of Home film reveals Knorr’s brand purpose to bring flavour to people’s lives and shows how flavour is about so much more than just food and taste; it’s about emotions, life’s meaningful moments and loved ones, and of course the delicious food we enjoy with them.
Filmed by Nanette Burstein, Oscar-nominated and Sundance Film award winner, the film tells the story of Carmen, an Arctic husky carer. It follows her daily life and that of her family thousands of miles away in the UK. She grew up in a family where meals held a special place at the heart of the home. Now, working in the Arctic, her family and home-cooked meals seem like a distant memory.
So, unknown to Carmen, Knorr sent her mother from Portsmouth to the Arctic to surprise her daughter. Culminating in a touching moment that celebrates the power of great flavour to transport you out the present moment, the film reveals that the greatest flavour on earth is in fact the taste of home.
A true story capturing the flavour of home
Jon Affleck, Global Brand Director, Knorr Masterbrand, says: “We were keen to capture a true and authentic story that brings to life Knorr’s brand purpose and point of view so we went forward with a documentary-style short film.
“Carmen and her mother are not actors. It’s a true story and their emotions in the film are real and authentic, delivering the message of Knorr’s brand values,” he adds.
The film is launching simultaneously across Germany, Brazil, France, Mexico, North America, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Africa. Argentina and the UK on YouTube, Facebook and Unruly Video Ad platforms.
