The problem

The past few years have been tough for young people. First Covid disrupted education and impacted mental health. Now global economic and geopolitical instability is causing further uncertainties in the job market.

In a recent study, over half of 16-25 year olds said that they think their career prospects are getting worse.

Experts warn that many young people are at risk of getting stuck in low-wage work in the coming decades, unless we work hard to create a more inclusive and resilient labour market.

That’s where the power of coaching comes in.

The People, a creative company powered by a community of young change-makers, have partnered with award-winning alcohol-free beer brand Freestar to create the Mentoring Hotline.

It works like this.

Every Friday, a team of entrepreneurs, business leaders and industry captains take calls from anyone young and unemployed.

They are offering short, sharp, one-to-one sessions to help with CVs and cover letters, job application tactics or just to help callers figure out where to start on their job search.
